Our Story
Way back in 2004, Napoleon Dynamite led to a resurgence in the popularity of tater tots, Britney Spears was the reigning pop princess, and Facebook was a new website your parents didn’t know about and We opened Das Schnitzel Haus in Parma Ohio. Now, here we are, almost 20 years later, still serving our community and now we have something New and special to offer Parma that it has never had before – it’s own Brewery! Our journey has been amazing, because of YOU, our customers and we are proud to have you be a part of our story and history!

To feed and quench the thirst of North East Ohio's German Food and Beer lovers and to offer something that is truly unique to our beloved city of Parma.

To continually strive to craft beers of distinct quality and variety, for beer lovers and beer beginners alike. We nourish a spirit of curiosity and collaboration, while staying true to the scientific processes of brewing. From the atmosphere to the quality customer service, we strive to make an experience you will cherish.

Our Brewery Style and Quality was hand picked by our family just for you and reflects the rich History our family has experienced that we would love to share with you!
2004
Choosing Parma Ohio
The husband and wife team immigrated from Germany in 1999.
One a butcher the other a chef, the restaurant business came natural.
Das Schnitzel Haus Opened in 2004 and has been serving the greater area of Cleveland the best German food for almost 20 years!
1995
Where We Started
The Djurin family lived in Germany for 10 years with the Patriarch of their family working as a professional Butcher. This was the beginning of their "American Dream"
2021
A Dream Realized
After 3 years of planning and renovation from the whole family, every detail was in it's perfect place and Schnitz Ale Brewery openned in November of 2021 becoming the first Brewery in the History of Parma Ohio!
2019
Planning the Future
The plan to start a Brewery had been in the works for a long time. The original idea the family had was to start a microbrewery in the garage, but logistically it didn't make sense, and when the building across the street became availeable to buy, they knew this was kismet!
